Easy to install
Fiat 500 key covers are an easy way to freshen your car keys. You can pick from a range of styles and colors to choose the one that matches your personal style. You can install them yourself within ten minutes. You will need a screwdriver as well as some patience. The first step is taking off the cover. The original cover needs to be removed before the new one cover can be put in place.
After removing the old cover, you can employ a flathead to remove the four major attachment clips out of the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked in red on the picture below. Be aware of the yellow locating tabs that have to be disconnected.
Replace the old battery with a # CR2032 coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the opening on the fob, and the "-" side should face the buttons made of rubber.
Attach the mirror cover to the passenger side by aligning locating tabs. Once you have completed this, insert the fob on the driver's side in your vehicle and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is functioning properly the car should turn on the parking lights and your doors will lock automatically.
Easy to remove

After fiat keys have removed the key, you'll see the small silver-colored round switch that has images of a locked and unlocked padlock on top of it. This is the key fob battery switch. It is simple to replace the battery by turning the switch one quarter turn using a small screwdriver with a flat head.
The key fob contains an embedded microchip that's used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert your Fiat key, it presses a button in the ignition switch. This is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will then be capable of reading the transponder on the key fob and verify that it's legitimate.
